Leanne Pearson Releases New Single “Miles Away”

Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Female Country Artist of the Year, Leanne Pearson, wrote her latest track “Miles Away,” during a period of four months where she was forced to be away from her then-fiance, Jordan, due to pandemic travel bans.

“During a time of challenge and pain, I wanted to pour my heart and soul into the music I was creating. Out of struggle came an intimate beautiful song,” Leanne says.

Musically, Miles Away is a shift from the country-rock Leanne is known for.

Featuring lovely acoustic chords, Pearson’s sweet voice, piano, and steel guitar from Matt Kelly of City and Colour touring fame, the track is deeply personal and vulnerable. The track was on the Hit Top 100 at Canadian Country Radio.

Accompanying the track are two music videos. One features Leanne donning a striking red dress in a brightly lit room playing a white guitar—with an adorned headstock that reads “Leanne & Jordan,”—and an alabaster white piano. Near the end of the video, Leanne is finally reunited with Jordan. The other video for “Miles Away” was created for the Deaf community, featuring sign language from Kiley Scott of Sign A Song, an organization based in Nashville TN, that was created to provide resources and bring music to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.

After being reunited, Leanne and Jordan were married in November at an Elvis chapel in Nashville and live-streamed the event for their friends and family due to COVID19 restrictions.

“We plan on having a big wedding celebration when COVID is long gone and making that a more traditional wedding! Now I get to marry Jordan twice!”
